" Re-imagining the Tradition. "
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a harvest festival celebrated in Chinese culture. It is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese lunisolar calendar with a full moon at night, corresponding to mid-September to early October of the Gregorian calendar. On this day, the Chinese believe that the moon is at its brightest and fullest size, coinciding with harvest time in the middle of autumn.
Every year we give gifts to our loved ones and friends on this day. This year I was commissioned by Uniquead to design the gift wrap and packaging.
Client: Uniquead   Year: 2023   Type: Packaging design
The design breaks the visual style of the traditional impression of the Mid-Autumn Festival and re-imagines the modern version festival. The elements are inspired by the blue sky of autumn in Beijing, the ginkgo leaves, the full moon, and the blooming osmanthus flowers in this season.
The elements float in the air and are closely aligned with the poetic context of Chinese culture.
